Buying Your Ticket

Buying your ticket is straightforward. You can get one from the driver when you hop on the bus, using cash or a contactless card. But, if you want to save a bit more, planning ahead can really pay off. Many bus companies have apps where you can buy your tickets in advance, and you might find deals a multi-journey deal.

We have introduced the ‘Derbyshire Wayfarer’ which offers almost unlimited travel on all the local bus services .

The Wayfarer ticket offers savings for adults, young people and groups:

  • 1 day adult- £8.00
  • 1 day concession/ b_line holder- £6.00
  • 1 day group- £15.50
  • 7 day adult- £21.00
  • 7 day concession/ b_line holder- £16.00

£3 bus fare cap in place for 2025

A single bus journey anywhere costs no more than £3 any day on most routes across England.

Single bus fares (including child and student fares) on most bus services in Derbyshire will be capped at £3 until the end of 2025.

The price of all other tickets remain unchanged.

If you're a student, a senior, or someone with certain disabilities, you might be eligible for discounted or even free travel. There are special bus passes available that can make getting around even more budget-friendly. Just check if you meet the criteria and find out how to apply.
