All 19-21 year olds within Derbyshire have access to discounted travel on the bus, whether they’re off to college, University, for a day out with friends or family or to an apprenticeship.
Travel Derbyshire is extending its popular b_line scheme to 19-21 year olds with a new b_line 3 smartcard.
b_line is our cut-price travel discount and library card which has just been extended to 19-21 year olds. It's for young people in college, university, on training courses or in an apprenticeship or just for a day out providing they live in Derbyshire. Now is the perfect time to apply to start saving and travel sustainably.
Young people aged between 19 and 21 can apply for the b_line3 card via the b_line application website.
Your b_line card gives you £1.50 max single fares on local buses throughout Derbyshire and to some nearby towns and cities (as long as the journey is direct and starts or finishes in Derbyshire).
b_line3 is a pilot scheme due to run to 31 December 2025.
There are some exclusions, the card does not give discount on the following operators: trentbarton, kinchbus, Notts+Derby, TM Travel, Littles Travel or Central Connect (Vectare). The Peak Sightseer is also excluded. Derbyshire Wayfarer Tickets are not eligible for the b_line discount and the card won’t give you a discount on rail tickets.
However, there are still lots of eligible services within the region to get you travelling sustainably at a great price.
